Peach Baseball splits Round One DH to force Game Three
Peach County Baseball turned things around in Game Two at Savannah Country Day School on Tuesday, April 23 by taking the nightcap by a score of 7-0. Jackson Peavy was a dominant force on the mound for the Trojans, pitching a complete game two-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts.
Six Trojans led the way offensively. DJ Hudson, Nick Hardee, Wyatt Blanton, Bryce Harrelson, Kenyon Walker, and Zion Hudson each collected one hit. DJ Hudson, Nick Hardee, and Kenyon Walker each doubled. Harrelson and Walker each had two RBI.
In Game One, the Trojans got off to a slow start on the mound and dropped the contest by a score of 10-7. Aden New, who is now 6-3 on the season and has pitched great for Peach County, struggled in the 2nd inning, giving up 6 runs (5 earned). He was relieved by freshmen Jaden Jones and Evan Rush.
The Trojan offense won the second half of the game, outscoring the Hornets 6-1 in the final four innings. Nick Hardee led the way at the plate with a 2/4 performance. DJ Hudson and Kenyon Walker were both 1/3. The top offensive performer was Wyatt Blanton, who was 1/3 with 4 RBI on a bases-loaded double and a sac fly.
Peach County Baseball will play at Savannah Country Day School today at 3:00 in the final game of the GHSA State Playoffs - Round One sereis.
