Peach County Baseball improves to 11-2
The Peach County Trojans defeated the Howard Huskies 11-5 on Monday thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Matthew Cannon singled, scoring one run, DJ Hudson singled, scoring three runs, Zachary Veillon singled, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run.
The Trojans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Bryce Harrelson singled, Hudson walked and scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Aden New started on the mound for the Peach County Trojans. The southpaw allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking three. Thomas Gregory and Jaden Jones each appeared in relief for Peach County Trojans.
Peach County Trojans tallied 10 hits in the game.
Veillon and Hudson each collected two hits and drove in two runs for Peach County. Peach County had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Nick Hardee, Zion Hudson, and Kenyon Walker led the team with two walks each. Walker stole two bases, and the Trojans stole six bases in the game.
Peach County plays at home on Wednesday against the Southwest Patriots in their next game at 6:00.
