Peach County Trojans Defeat Upson-Lee Varsity Knights Behind Strong Performance From Jackson Peavy

Jackson Peavy was dominant on the mound, as the pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Peach County Trojans's 6-0 victory over Upson-Lee Varsity Knights on Saturday. Peavy surrendered zero hits and zero runs over six innings while walking four.
DJ Hudson collected three hits in three at-bats in the win. Hudson hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Peach County Trojans opened the scoring in the first after Hudson hit a solo home run to center field.
Peach County Trojans scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Hudson singled, scoring one run; Nick Hardee singled, scoring two runs; and Scout Willingham doubled, scoring two runs.
Hunter Smith took the loss for the Upson-Lee Varsity Knights. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking one. Jaden Jones collected the save.
Peach County Trojans tallied nine hits in the game. Willingham, Hudson, and Hardee each drove in two runs for Peach County Trojans. Peavy threw an immaculate inning in the fourth, striking out the side on nine pitches. Peach County Trojans didn't commit a single error in the field. Willingham had the most chances in the field with 12.
Upson-Lee Varsity Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Drake Dyer had the most chances in the field with seven.

Peach County Trojans Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over Marion County Varsity Baseball Eagles

Peach County Trojans easily dispatched Marion County Varsity Baseball Eagles on Saturday, 13-1.
Marion County Varsity Baseball Eagles were the first to get on the board in the first when one run scored on another play.
Scout Willingham hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Peach County Trojans tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Peach County Trojans flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on seven hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Rigsby Booth that drove in three.
Peach County Trojans scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jaden Jones was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Owen Meredith was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; an error scored one run; Zion Hudson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run; and DJ Hudson doubled, scoring two runs.
Hudson earned the win for the Peach County Trojans. The hurler gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking two. JJ Keyt took the loss for Marion County Varsity Baseball Eagles. The starter went three innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking three. In relief, Miller Greene pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Peach County Trojans. The lefty surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
Peach County Trojans collected 10 hits in the game. Hudson and Greene each collected two hits for Peach County Trojans. Booth and Hudson each drove in three runs for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans turned one double play in the game.
Jordan Mathis, Jayden Richardson, and Richard Dodson each collected one hit for Marion County Varsity Baseball Eagles.
Peach County Trojans will travel to Westover to open Region 1-AAA play on Wednesday.
