Trojans fall to Holy Innocents 5-4

Peach County lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Holy Innocents Episcopal on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Holy Innocents Episcopal batting in the top of the seventh when Taylor Fuller singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Griffin Bittel was credited with the victory for Holy Innocents Episcopal. Bittel went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out six, and walking zero.

Aden New entered the game for the Trojans in the top of the 7th, allowing a hit and a walk. At that point, Jackson Peavy entered the game, allowing one hit and one run while striking out three and walking one.

Zac Jackson started the game for Holy Innocents Episcopal. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out six. DJ Hudson started the game for Peach County. The righthander went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five.

Bryce Harrelson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Trojans in hits.

Peach County scored all of its runs in the bottom of the third with aggressive baserunning and timely situational hitting.

Holy Innocents Episcopal tallied six hits on the day. Emmett Campbell and Dylan Radaszewski each had multiple hits for HIE.

 

Peach County is scheduled to host Taylor County on Wednesday at 6:30 and Swainsboro on Friday at 5:30.
