New Head Baseball Coach Joey Hiller speaks at the Kiwanis Club

Coach Joey Hiller was hired in mid-June this year and immediately impacted the Peach County Baseball program and the community.

On Thursday, September 1 Coach Hiller was Dr. Lionel Brown's guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club luncheon.  After a great introduction by Dr. Jesse Davis, Peach County High School's Principal, Hiller shared his vision for Peach County Baseball.

He talked about cultivating the right culture and providing a first-class environment where student-athletes can thrive and receive everything they need to be successful in baseball.

Hiller explained the hard work that the players and parents have put in since mid-June with fundraising efforts, weight training sessions with the football team, summer practices, and "4-on-1" sessions.

Dr. Davis began his introduction of Hiller with a quote.  "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."  Hiller explained that the team has been holding "4-on-1" sessions every Monday through Thursday from 2:15 - 5:00 and working out in the weight room each morning during 1st Block.  He explained that there would be 71 of these sessions this fall for the players who are not participating in Football to come out each day and work on the fundamentals of the game.

Coach Hiller also opened his speech with a quote.  "Before you can overachieve, you have to first over believe."  He is encouraging his players and his parents to believe.

Things are starting to change in the culture of Peach County Baseball.  Work ethic, attitude, and an expectation of excellence are all parts of the proper culture necessary to achieve championships.
