Bottom Of The Lineup Carries Peach County Trojans Past Westover

The bottom of the lineup helped Peach County Trojans capture a 19-3 victory over Westover on Wednesday. Xavion Childs, Wyatt Blanton, and Owen Meredith combined for five of the team's 10 hits in the victory. They scored three runs and drove in one.
Peach County Trojans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Scout Willingham singled to left field and Miller Greene hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring two runs.
Peach County Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Zion Hudson singled, scoring one run, DJ Hudson grounded out, scoring two runs, and Rigsby Booth singled, scoring one run.
Peach County Trojans scored six runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. Hudson drew a walk, scoring one run, Booth was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Greene was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and an error scored two runs.
Peach County Trojans scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Matt Cannon was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored two runs, Greene drew a walk, scoring one run, and Blanton singled, scoring one run.
Willingham earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The hurler allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over one inning, striking out two and walking one. K Quimby took the loss for Westover. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering 14 runs (10 earned) on eight hits, striking out none and walking six. Jaden Jones threw one inning of shutout ball for Peach County Trojans in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking one.
Peach County Trojans collected 10 hits in the game. Blanton, Meredith, and Willingham each collected two hits for Peach County Trojans. Greene led Peach County Trojans with two runs batted in. Hudson paced Peach County Trojans with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Meredith, Z. Hudson, DJ Hudson, and Cannon each stole multiple bases for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans ran wild on the base paths, collecting 14 stolen bases for the game.
Peach County Trojans will travel to the Academy for Classical Education for their next game on Thursday at 7:00.
