Kade Thompson Drives In 4 To Lead Peach County Trojans Past Perry Varsity Panthers

Kade Thompson drove in four runs on two hits to lead Peach County Trojans past Perry Varsity Panthers 11-9 on Wednesday. Thompson singled in the third inning, scoring two runs, and tripled in the fourth inning, scoring two.
Peach County Trojans built a 5-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Perry Varsity Panthers's charge. Perry Varsity Panthers closed the gap by scoring on a sacrifice fly, a walk, and a sacrifice fly.
Peach County Trojans got on the board in the first inning after Nick Hardee singled, scoring two runs.
Perry Varsity Panthers tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a hit by a pitch, and a walk by Brady Preston.
Peach County Trojans captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the second after Perry Varsity Panthers committed an error, and DJ Hudson hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Peach County Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Thompson singled, scoring two runs, and Owen Meredith grounded out, scoring one run.
Jackson Peavy earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The hurler gave up six hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out 13 and walking two. Tripp Walker took the loss for Perry Varsity Panthers. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking two. Thompson collected the save.
Peach County Trojans tallied 10 hits in the game. Hardee and Thompson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Peach County Trojans while hitting back-to-back. Zion Hudson paced Peach County Trojans with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Xavion Childs, Rigsby Booth, Hudson, and Thompson each stole multiple bases for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans ran wild on the base paths, collecting 16 stolen bases for the game.
Perry Varsity Panthers collected 11 hits in the game. Preston provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Perry Varsity Panthers with two runs batted in. Kameron Vandersee and Reid Ginn each collected three hits for Perry Varsity Panthers. Nathan Sullivan collected two hits for Perry Varsity Panthers in five at bats.
