DJ Hudson Drives In 4 To Lead Peach County Trojans Past Campbell Varsity Spartans

DJ Hudson drove in four runs on three hits to lead Peach County Trojans past Campbell Varsity Spartans 13-2 on Saturday. Hudson tripled in the third scoring two, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.

Peach County Trojans scored seven runs in the third inning on the way to victory. an error scored two runs, Hudson tripled, scoring two runs, Scout Willingham grounded out, scoring one run, Miller Greene tripled, scoring one run, and Torin Helms singled, scoring one run.

Peach County Trojans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Willingham was struck by a pitch, and Peach County Trojans scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

Peach County Trojans extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Hudson and Willingham.

 earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The righty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking two. Ben Homansky took the loss for Campbell Varsity Spartans. The starter went two innings, surrendering five runs on three hits, striking out three and walking four. Evan Rush pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Peach County Trojans in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

Willingham stole two bases. Peach County Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Peach County Trojans stole four bases in the game. Peach County Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Zach Veillon had the most chances in the field with nine.

Cameron Denis, the number seven hitter for Campbell Varsity Spartans, led the way with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day.

Peach County Trojans will travel to Cambridge for their next game on Saturday.

Peach County Trojans Secure Win Against Cambridge Varsity Bears

Peach County Trojans topped Cambridge Varsity Bears 13-8 on Saturday.

Peach County Trojans jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Rigsby Booth drew a walk, scoring one run, and Andy Oltmann induced Nick Hardee to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored.

Nine more Peach County Trojans runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 12-1. Oltmann induced Kade Thompson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Matt Cannon drew a walk, scoring one run, Zion Hudson drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored three runs, and Scout Willingham homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Cambridge Varsity Bears scored six runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Jared Johnson singled, scoring one run, Ethan Herrington singled, scoring one run, Ashton Abbas tripled, scoring three runs, and Calloway Holmes singled, scoring one run.

Jackson Peavy earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The southpaw allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out seven and walking two. Oltmann took the loss for Cambridge Varsity Bears. The righty went two and one-third innings, allowing seven runs on one hit, striking out three and walking six. Owen Meredith threw one and one-third innings of no-run ball for Peach County Trojans in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

DJ Hudson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Peach County Trojans with three runs batted in. Hardee led Peach County Trojans with two hits in four at bats. Booth paced Peach County Trojans with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 12 walks for the game. Hudson and Cannon each stole multiple bases for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans stole nine bases in the game.

Abbas set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Cambridge Varsity Bears with two hits in four at bats.

Peach County Trojans play at home on Tuesday against Spalding in their next game.
