Strong Hitting Not Enough As Peach County Trojans Falls To Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears

Peach County Trojans fell 6-4 to Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears on Tuesday despite out-hitting them five to four. Rigsby Booth led Peach County Trojans with two hits.

 

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears got on the board in the first inning after Bryce Fontenot grounded out, scoring one run.

 

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears committed an error, which helped Peach County Trojans tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

 

Peach County Trojans took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Booth doubled, scoring two runs, to give Peach County Trojans the edge, 3-1.

 

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Cody Bridger that drove in two.

 

Gabe Gowder earned the win for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. The starter surrendered five hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking five. Jackson Peavy took the loss for Peach County Trojans. The southpaw went five and one-third innings, giving up four runs on three hits, striking out nine and walking four.

 

Booth provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Peach County Trojans with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.

 

Ethan England, Jordan Wilkerson, Bridger, and Ryan Reynolds each collected one hit for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Fontenot and Bridger each drove in two runs for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Kaden Thompson led Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Landon Kemp stole two bases. Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears stole four bases in the game.

Rigsby Booth A Difficult Out As Peach County Trojans Defeat Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears

Rigsby Booth collected three hits in three at bats, as Peach County Trojans defeated Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears 12-6 on Tuesday. Booth doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

 

Peach County Trojans were the first to get on the board in the first when Booth doubled, scoring one run.

 

A hit by a pitch, a single by Scout Willingham, and a single by Booth helped Peach County Trojans extend their early lead in the second.

 

Peach County Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Wyatt Blanton singled to center field, Zion Hudson singled to left field, and DJ Hudson doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

 

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Kaden Thompson following a 8-pitch at-bat.

 

Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh on a home run to right field by Thompson.

 

Hudson earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The starter surrendered six hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Landon Kemp took the loss for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. The pitcher went one inning, surrendering four runs on two hits, striking out none and walking three. Kade Thompson appeared in relief for Peach County Trojans.

 

Peach County Trojans tallied 11 hits in the game. Owen Meredith collected two hits for Peach County Trojans in three at bats. Thompson stole three bases. Peach County Trojans ran wild on the base paths, collecting 10 stolen bases for the game.

 

Thompson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears with four runs batted in. The outfielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Ethan England collected two hits for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears in four at bats.
