Harrelson has great day at the plate for the Trojans
On Wednesday, Bryce Harrelson drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Peach County Trojans past the Central Chargers 17-2. Harrelson doubled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth, scoring one.
Peach County Trojans won thanks in part to nine runs in the first inning. Josh Pettigrew induced Hunter Moye to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Torin Helms drew a walk, scoring one run, Rigsby Booth drew a walk, scoring one run, Nathan Smith was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Xavion Childs drew a walk, scoring one run, Zion Hudson singled, scoring one run, and Harrelson doubled, scoring three runs.
The Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Peach County scored on a wild pitch, and Hudson singled, each scoring one run.
An error extended the Trojan's lead to 12-0 in the top of the third inning.
Peach County scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Hudson drew a walk, scoring one run; Harrelson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run; Nick Hardee hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run; Wyatt Blanton was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and a wild pitch scored one.
Aden New earned the win for Peach County Trojans.
The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one.
Pettigrew took the loss for Central.
The starting pitcher went two innings, allowing 11 runs on five hits, striking out one and walking seven.
In relief, Thomas Gregory pitched one inning of shutout ball for Peach County. The reliever surrendered zero hits, struck out three, and walked none.
Booth and Hudson each collected multiple hits for the Peach County Trojans. DJ Hudson paced the Team with two walks. Overall, the team was patient at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. The Peach County Trojans were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Booth made the most plays with 11.
