On his team's early success, Coach Joey Hiller made the following comments.

"We have been working very hard for the past two years to put this program on the map. We still have a long way to go, but we are making progress that shows in our performance on the field. It's not flawless, and there are still many areas that need improvement. Our guys accept the challenges that we give them every day and are diligent with their work."

"Our pitching and defense have definitely carried us. We will need to make a lot of strides offensively, which is normally the last thing to come. With more work, games, and experience, we plan to develop into a team that can compete a little better at the plate. It's a process, and our guys work extremely hard. Their hard work will pay off, hopefully, sooner than later, but we will always keep working and being relentless in our pursuit of excellence."

"We have a long way to go, and our Region is one of the best in AAA.  The competition level is about to really pick up in a few weeks.  There will be plenty of adversity and opportunities to work on our mental toughness.  So many components go into championship-level baseball, and you have to check the box on all of them.  We will get there."

The Trojans have three more games this week and three the next week before opening Region 2-AAA competition with their three-game series against perennial power Pike County.
