Peach County Baseball's historic season comes to a close

Peach County Trojans had trouble keeping up with Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears in a 15-2 loss on Wednesday.
Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears got on the board in the top of the first inning after Bryce Fontenot hit a sacrifice fly, and Kaden Thompson singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Ethan England hit a solo home run to center field, Beau Bruns singled, scoring two runs, and Cody Bridger doubled, scoring two runs.
Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears scored six runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. England singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, and Jordan Wilkerson homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Tucker Holton earned the win for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. The starter gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Dawson Whaley pitched three innings in relief for Peach County Trojans. The reliever allowed three hits and four runs (two earned) while, striking out two and walking two. Scout Willingham took the loss for Peach County Trojans. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on five hits, striking out one and walking four.
DJ Hudson led Peach County Trojans with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Peach County Trojans turned one double play in the game.
Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears collected nine hits in the game. England drove the middle of the lineup, leading Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. England and Bridger each collected two hits for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Thompson paced Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Landon Kemp and Thompson each stole multiple bases for Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears. Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears ran wild on the base paths, amassing seven stolen bases for the game. Cherokee Bluff Varsity Bears turned one double play in the game.
