Peach County Trojans won big over Monroe Varsity Golden Tornado 12-0 on Friday.
Peach County Trojans jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after DJ Hudson grounded out, scoring one run, Rigsby Booth singled, scoring two runs, and Wyatt Blanton drew a walk, scoring one run.
Peach County Trojans scored five runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Hudson doubled, scoring one run, Nick Hardee singled, scoring one run, Booth singled, scoring two runs, and Blanton singled, scoring one run.
Peach County Trojans scored one run in the top of the fifth on an inside-the-park home run by Hudson.
Hudson earned the win for the Peach County Trojans. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking none. Javion Tinch took the loss for Monroe Varsity Golden Tornado. The reliever went three innings, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out none and walking two. Nehemiah Tinch stepped on the bump first for Monroe Varsity Golden Tornado. The righty surrendered seven hits and nine runs over two innings, striking out two and walking two. Owen Meredith tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Peach County Trojans in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking one.
Peach County Trojans amassed nine hits in the game. Booth, Scout Willingham, and Hudson each collected two hits for Peach County Trojans. Hudson went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Xavion Childs, Blanton, Meredith, Zion Hudson, Hardee, and Matt Cannon each stole multiple bases for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans ran wild on the base paths, collecting 19 stolen bases for the game. Peach County Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Booth had the most chances in the field with eight.
Talen Pugh went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Monroe Varsity Golden Tornado in hits.
