Peach County Trojans Triumphs Over Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates In Late-Game Victory

Peach County Trojans defeated Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates 4-3 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. Peach County Trojans were down 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning when Torin Helms doubled, scoring two runs.
Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates were the first to get on the board in the first when Dylan Wilkes singled, scoring one run.
Scout Willingham singled to left field, which helped Peach County Trojans tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.
A single by Wilkes gave Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth.
DJ Hudson earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The hurler surrendered eight hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Grady Stevens took the loss for Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates. The starter went six innings, surrendering two runs on three hits, striking out nine and walking two.
Helms led Peach County Trojans with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Zion Hudson led Peach County Trojans with two hits in two at bats. Hudson stole four bases. Peach County Trojans stole four bases in the game. Peach County Trojans turned one double play in the game.
Wilkes drove the middle of the lineup, leading Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Wilkes and Landen Holbrook each collected two hits for Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates. Fernandina Beach Varsity Pirates were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lucas Hutchinson made the most plays with eight.
