Aden New throws a gem 2-hitter, but the Trojans fall short to Mary Persons 2-1

Even though the Peach County Trojans collected four hits to the Mary Persons Bulldogs's two, they still fell 2-1 on Wednesday. Zion Hudson, Torin Helms, Bryce Harrelson, and Kenyon Walker each collected one hit for the Trojans.

Both teams were strong on the hill. Mary Persons' pitchers struck out seven, while Peach County sat down four.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two sacrifice flies. Mary Persons first got on the board when Gavin Barr hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Cole Carr earned the win for Mary Persons Varsity Bulldogs. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking two. Aden New took the loss for Peach County, his first of the season. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing two runs (zero earned) on two hits and striking out four.

Peach County Trojans turned one double play in the game.

Brady Christman and lan Lewis each collected one hit for Mary Persons. Tristan Hunt and Barr each drove in one run for the Bulldogs. 

Peach County will host the DH of the series against Mary Persons on Thursday at 5:00.
