Peach County Trojans Surge Past Westover Thanks To Big First Inning

Peach County Trojans defeated Westover 13-3 on Friday thanks in part to seven runs in the first inning. Wyatt Blanton singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Zach Veillon singled, scoring two runs, and Zion Hudson singled, scoring three runs.
A sacrifice fly by Veillon extended the Peach County Trojans lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the second inning.
Peach County Trojans added one run in the third after DJ Hudson lined out.
Hudson earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The righty surrendered three hits and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking one. D Ball took the loss for Westover. The hurler went three innings, allowing 12 runs (nine earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking nine. Owen Meredith tossed two and two-thirds innings of zero-run ball for Peach County Trojans in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit, striking out six and walking none.
Veillon led Peach County Trojans with four runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-1 on the day. Blanton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Peach County Trojans in hits. Peach County Trojans had patience at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Meredith and Hudson led the team with two walks each. Blanton and Hudson each stole multiple bases for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans ran wild on the base paths, tallying 13 stolen bases for the game. Peach County Trojans didn't commit a single error in the field. Veillon had the most chances in the field with 11.
J Shorter led Westover with one run batted in. I kelly, A Thompson, K Quimby, A Reese, and J Reese each collected one hit for Westover.
