Peach County Baseball opens the 2025 Season with Win over Baldwin
Zion Hudson collected three hits in four at-bats as the Peach County Trojans defeated the Baldwin Braves 15-0 on Tuesday. Hudson doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.
Peach County got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Hudson singled to the left side of the infield, Scout Willingham walked, and the Trojans scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Peach County added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Wyatt Blanton laid down a sacrifice bunt, Hudson singled to center field, DJ Hudson grounded out, and Rigsby Booth doubled to center field, each scoring one run.
The Trojans added one run in the third after Blanton doubled to right field.
Peach County scored seven runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Nick Hardee was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Owen Meredith was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Xavion Childs singled, scoring one run, and Hudson doubled, scoring two runs.
Jackson Peavy earned the win for the Peach County Trojans. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking two. Ricky Jenks took the loss for Baldwin Varsity Braves. The right-handed pitcher went two innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking two. DJ Hudson and Miller Greene each threw shutout innings for Peach County Trojans in relief.
Childs collected two hits for Peach County Trojans in three at-bats. Hudson, Blanton, Hudson, and Hardee each stole multiple bases for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans stole 18 bases in the game.
