Fifth-Inning Spurt Lead Peach County Trojans Past Spalding Varsity Jaguars

Peach County Trojans defeated Spalding Varsity Jaguars 10-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to seven runs in the fifth inning. Rigsby Booth drew a walk, scoring one run, Nick Hardee singled, scoring two runs, Owen Meredith drew a walk, scoring one run, Xavion Childs drew a walk, scoring one run, Cara Webb induced Wyatt Blanton to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Zion Hudson singled, scoring one run.
Peach County Trojans got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Spalding Varsity Jaguars committed an error, and DJ Hudson doubled to left field, each scoring one run.
Hudson earned the win for the Peach County Trojans. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Braylan Hall took the loss for Spalding Varsity Jaguars. The pitcher went four innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking two. Jackson Peavy started on the hill for Peach County Trojans. The southpaw gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one. Scout Willingham and Miller Greene each threw shutout innings for Peach County Trojans in relief.
Peach County Trojans tallied nine hits in the game. Hudson and Hardee each collected two hits for Peach County Trojans. Childs and Hardee each drove in two runs for Peach County Trojans.
