Trojans get a much-needed sweep of Jackson 10-3 and 16-7
With their backs against the wall, the Peach County Trojans swept Jackson High School to even their Region 2-AAA record at 3-3. A 5:00 DH ended at around 11:00 on Friday night.

The Trojans took game one with great pitching from DJ Hudson and team offensive execution, scoring runs in every inning. Peach County collected a season-high 11 hits in the game, having a fantastic approach at the plate. DJ Hudson led the way on the mound and at the plate for the Trojans. The junior right-hander was 3/3 with 2 walks, 2 Runs Scored, and 2 RBI. On the mound, Hudson threw 6 innings, scattering 6 hits, giving up one earned run, and striking out 8. Senior Bryce Harrelson was also 3/3 at the plate with 3 RBI. Junior Torin Helms was 2/3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Zach Veillon, Zion Hudson, and Jaden Jones each collected one hit for the Trojans.
GAME TWO RECAP

A long and crazy game in the nightcap saw the Trojans jump out to a 9-0 lead in the first inning. Jackson Peavy got the start for Peach County and was removed after three innings with the score 11-0. Peavy was perfect in those three innings, striking out all nine batters. He was relieved by Bryce Harrelson, who threw the ball extremely well but was the victim of erratic strike zone and several errors. After the top of the 4th, the score was 11-5. The Trojans answered with two runs, to make it 13-5. Harrelson was relieved by Aden New, who was also victimized by a moving strike zone and errors. He allowed 2 runs to make the score 13-7. Peach County pushed 3 insurance runs across in the bottom of the 5th to make the score 16-7. The Trojans re-entered Jackson Peavy in the 6th. The junior lefthander did not allow a run, and the game ended in a 16-7 victory.
Peavy finished the game earning the Win and the Save, pitching a total of 5 innings, striking out 14, walking 4, and allowing no hits or runs.
At the plate, Harrelson led the way, going 2/2 with 1 Run Scored and 1 RBI. Five Trojans collected one hit each. Thomas Gregory had a pinch-hit single with 2 RBI. DJ Hudson, Nick Hardee, Matt Cannon, and Zach Veillon each collected a hit. Zion Hudson did not have a hit but collected 2 RBI. Torin Helms did not have a hit, but collected 3 RBI.
UP NEXT:
The Trojans go on Spring Break next week and return on Thursday at home at 5:55 to face Upson-Lee in the third Region 2-AAA series. On Friday, Peach County travels to Upson-Lee for a 5:00 DH.
