Peach County Baseball earns the split with Upson-Lee

Thursday's game against Upson-Lee High School was a heartbreaker for Peach County, as they lost the lead late in an 11-7 defeat. Upson-Lee High School trailed 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning.

Despite the loss, the Trojans did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Upson-Lee High School had nine hits on the way to victory.

Peach County tallied four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by the Trojans was led by Xavion Childs and Zion Hudson, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Bryce Harrelson took the loss for Peach County. The right-hander surrendered six runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out seven.

The Trojans tallied eight hits. Hudson and Harrelson managed multiple hits. Hudson went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Peach County.

Upson-Lee High School totaled nine hits in the game. Peaden and Ellington each racked up multiple hits for Upson-Lee High School.

DJ Hudson didn't allow a single run as Peach County defeated Upson-Lee High School 3-0 on Thursday. Hudson allowed just one hit and struck out seven.

The Trojans fired up the offense in the first inning when Mac Raley drew a walk, scoring one run.

DJ Hudson led Peach County with two hits in two at-bats, including a two-RBI single in the fifth.

Timely defense to support Hudson helped the Trojans.  Fantastic plays by Xavion Childs in the sixth and seventh inning, some nice glove work at first base by Mac Raley, and a solid effort behind the plate by senior Cam Griggs were some of the defensive highlights.

 

Peach County Baseball returns to action at home on Tuesday, April 11, in Region 2-AAA play against Mary Persons High School at 6:30.
