Scout Willingham's Clutch Hitting Propels Peach County Trojans To Victory Over Baldwin Varsity Braves

Scout Willingham drove in six runs on two hits to lead Peach County Trojans past Baldwin Varsity Braves 30-0 on Saturday. Willingham hit a grand slam to left field in the first, scoring four, singled in the first, scoring one, and walked in the third, scoring one.

Peach County Trojans won thanks in part to 21 runs in the first inning. Willingham hit a grand slam to left field; Torin Helms singled, scoring one run; Zach Veillon singled, scoring two runs; Xavion Childs singled, scoring one run; Wyatt Blanton drew a walk, scoring one run; Nick Hardee singled, scoring one run, Owen Meredith drew a walk, scoring one run, Helms drew a walk, scoring one run, Veillon singled, scoring one run, Childs drew a walk, scoring one run, Jaden Jones singled, scoring two runs, Willingham singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Meredith singled, scoring two runs.

A single by Jones extended the Peach County Trojan's lead to 22-0 in the top of the second inning.

Peach County Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Dawson Whaley walked, Jones singled to left field, Miller Greene singled to left field, Willingham walked, Baldwin Varsity Braves committed an error, Avery Hill walked, Avery Horne was struck by a pitch, and Whaley walked, each scoring one run.

Willingham earned the win for Peach County Trojans. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking one. Tyler Baugh took the loss for Baldwin Varsity Braves. The pitcher went one inning, allowing 21 runs (15 earned) on 10 hits, striking out two and walking nine.

Peach County Trojans collected 13 hits in the game. Jones led Peach County Trojans with three hits in four at-bats. Hardee and Veillon each collected multiple hits for Peach County Trojans. Peach County Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 15 walks for the game. Blanton, Willingham, and Whaley led the team with two free passes each. Childs stole two bases. Peach County Trojans ran wild on the base paths, collecting seven stolen bases for the game. Peach County Trojans were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Veillon made the most plays with eight.

Ricky Jenks went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Baldwin Varsity Braves in hits.
