Peach County Baseball falls to Mount de Sales 9-5

Peach County Baseball opened up scoring in the first inning when Torin Helms singled.

Mount de Sales Academy pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third, Landen Moore singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run; Kyle Shaughnessy singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run; Carson Craig singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run; and Levi Siebenmorgan grounded out, scoring one run.

The Cavaliers scored four runs in the fourth inning, led by Shaughnessy and Evan Iuliucci, all driving in runs in the inning.

Down 8-1, Peach County tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The Trojans scored their runs on a single by Bryce Harrelson.

Connor West earned the victory on the hill for Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers. West went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out four. Siebenmorgan threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Harrelson took the loss for Peach County. Harrelson went two and a third innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out two.  He was relieved by Aiden New in the 3rd inning.  The lefty reliever allowed 5 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks in 2 and two thirds innings.  Mac Raley finished the game on the mound for the Trojans.

Peach County scattered seven hits in the game. Harrelson and Helms each had multiple hits for the Trojans. Harrelson led Peach County with three hits in four at-bats.

 

Peach County finishes the regular season today in a 5:00 DH against Central High School at the Ed Defore Sports Complex in Macon, GA.

The Trojans will advance to the First Round of the GHSA AAA State Tournament on Monday at Thomasville High School.  Game times TBA.
