Trojans lose first game 8-0 to Savannah Country Day
Peach County Trojans (Varsity) watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-0 loss to Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets on Saturday.
The Peach County Trojans (Varsity) struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets, giving up eight runs.
Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets fired up the offense in the second inning, when Jackson Peavy threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets.
One bright spot for Peach County Trojans (Varsity) was a single by Zion Hudson in the second inning.
Tyler Scott was the winning pitcher for Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets. The ace lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out ten and walking one.
Peavy took the loss for Peach County Trojans (Varsity). The lefty surrendered one run on one hit over three innings, striking out five in his first start for the Trojans.
Torin Helms led Peach County Trojans (Varsity) with two hits in three at bats.
Jackson Sammons went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets in hits. Savannah Country Day Varsity Hornets was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Garret Lorfano had the most chances in the field with ten.
