Aden New strikes out 11 in win over Hardaway
Aden New dominated on the bump, as the lefty rang up 11 strikeouts in Peach County's 10-1 victory over the Hardaway Hawks on Tuesday. New gave up one hit and one run over five innings while walking none.
DJ Hudson had a strong eye at the plate in the win, as the infielder walked three times in four plate appearances.
A ground out by Bryce Harrelson put the Trojans on the board in the bottom of the first.
Peach County added one run in the second. Kenyon Walker hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 2-0.
The Trojans added one run in the third when Nick Hardee singled, making the score 3-1.
Jayden Foster took the loss for Hardaway Hawks. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking four. Kenyon Walker tossed two innings of zero-run ball for Peach County in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit, striking out four and walking one.
Torin Helms, Hardee, Rigsby Booth, Hudson, and Zion Hudson each collected one hit for Peach County Varsity Trojans. Hardee and Booth each drove in two runs for the Trojans.
Hudson paced Peach County with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 14 walks for the game. Zion Hudson and DJ Hudson each stole multiple bases for the Trojans. Peach County stole eight bases in the game.
