Scout Willingham Drives In 4 To Lead Peach County Trojans Past Academy for Classical Education Varsity Gryphons

Scout Willingham drove in four runs on three hits to lead Peach County Trojans past Academy for Classical Education Varsity Gryphons 13-0 on Thursday. Willingham hit a home run to left field in the fourth, scoring two, singled in the first, scoring one, and hit a sacrifice fly in the second, scoring one.
Jackson Peavy struck out 13 batters on the day. The pitcher also allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings while walking three.
Peach County Trojans jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Willingham singled, scoring one run; an error scored one run, and Torin Helms homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Peach County Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after a pitch struck Nick Hardee, and Willingham hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
An error extended the Peach County Trojan's lead to 8-0 in the top of the third inning.
Three more Peach County Trojans runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 11-0. Willingham homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Wyatt Blanton singled, scoring one run.
Chase Sasser took the loss for the Academy for Classical Education Varsity Gryphons. The righty went one-third of an inning, surrendering five runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking none.
Peach County Trojans accumulated nine hits in the game. Blanton and DJ Hudson each collected multiple hits for Peach County Trojans. Zion Hudson stole two bases. Peach County Trojans stole nine bases in the game.
