Peach County represented well but fell just short in Round One

  • Thomasville was the #1 Seed from Region 1.  Peach County was the #4 Seed from Region 2.
  • Thomasville is the #4 ranked team in AAA (Coaches Box Poll) and #8 in the Maxpreps Computer Poll.
  • This was Peach County's first time making it to the playoffs in four years and the first time winning a playoff game since 2016.
  • The 16-16 record marks the first time the program has been .500 since the 2016 season.  
  • The Trojans lost game one 12-2.  Sophomore Jackson Peavy was the losing pitcher.
  • The Trojans won game two 3-2 in 10 innings.  Sophomore DJ Hudson was fantastic on the mound, pitching 8.1 innings, giving up eight hits, and striking out 5.  He gave up only one run.  He was relieved by junior Bryce Harrelson, who pitched 1.2 innings, struck out 4, and gave up no hits.  Bryce Harrelson is credited with the win.  The Trojans lost the lead 2-1 in the top of the 10th inning.  In the bottom of the 10th, senior Mac Raley scored from second base on freshman Zion Hudson's hit to the RF to tie the game 2-2.  With the bases loaded, DJ Hudson hit a high chopper to SS, scoring freshman Xavion Childs to give Peach County the walk-off win.
  • The Trojans lost game three 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th on a walk-off suicide squeeze.  Bryce Harrelson threw 6.1 innings, giving up only three hits and striking out 9.  Jackson Peavy came in to pitch in relief. He surrendered the game's lone run on the suicide squeeze bunt attempt.  It was an unearned run.
