DJ Hudson powers Peach County past Deerfield

DJ Hudson drove in four runs on one hit to lead the Peach County Trojans past the Deerfield-Windsor Knights 9-2 on Friday. In the sixth inning, Hudson singled, scoring two runs.

Peach County got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after the Knights committed an error, and Thomas Gregory singled, each scoring two runs.

Hudson earned the win for the Trojans.

The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Gage Tomlinson took the loss for Deerfield-Windsor Varsity Knights. They went two and one-third innings, surrendering four runs (one earned) on zero hits, striking out four and walking four.

Gregory and Hudson each collected one hit for Peach County Trojans. Bryce Harrelson and Zion Hudson each stole multiple bases for the Trojans. Peach County ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game.

Boyd Pollock, Drake Wiggins, and Grier Morey each collected one hit for Deerfield-Windsor. Morey, the number seven hitter for Deerfield, led the way with two runs batted in. He went 1-for-3 on the day.
