Peach County defeats Bainbridge 10-2 in Game 1 of the First Round of the State Playoffs

Shaniyah Gibson drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Peach County Lady Trojans past Bainbridge 10-2 on Friday. Gibson hit a grand slam to left field in the fourth inning, scoring four runs, and hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, scoring one.

Bainbridge got on the board in the first inning after Kylie Miller grounded out, scoring one run.

The Lady Cats added one run in the third after Abigail Holley singled on an 0-2 count.

Peach County flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was the grand slam to left field by Gibson that drove in four.

Gracie Martin earned the win for the Peach County Lady Trojans. The pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Emsleigh Glass took the loss for Bainbridge. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering 10 runs on 12 hits, striking out two and walking four.

The Lady Trojans collected 12 hits in the game. Kaylyn Hornaday, Gibson, and Taleyah Marable each collected two hits for the Peach County Lady Trojans. Marable stole two bases. Peach County ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game.
