Shaniyah Gibson's Clutch Hitting Propels Peach County Lady Trojans To Victory Over Schley County

Shaniyah Gibson drove in four runs on four hits to lead Peach County Lady Trojans past Schley County 19-5 on Thursday. Gibson singled in the third scoring two, tripled in the fourth scoring two, and singled in the second scoring one.

Peach County Lady Trojans scored 10 runs in the third inning on the way to victory. an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Gibson singled, scoring two runs, Alyssa Crozier singled, scoring one run, Yumi Thomas singled, scoring one run, Lucy Warnock singled, scoring one run, and Saniya Martin singled, scoring one run.

Peach County Lady Trojans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Thomas walked, Warnock walked, and Schley County committed an error, each scoring one run.

Peach County Lady Trojans added one run in the second after Gibson singled to center field.

Schley County flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Emilyn Sizemore that drove in two.

Peach County Lady Trojans scored five runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. Gibson tripled, scoring two runs, Crozier doubled, scoring one run, Warnock grounded out, scoring one run, and Jaiden Carroll grounded out, scoring one run.

Gibson earned the win for Peach County Lady Trojans. The reliever gave up zero hits and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one. Chloe Palmer took the loss for Schley County. The hurler went two innings, giving up 13 runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking one. Crozier stepped in the circle first for Peach County Lady Trojans. The starter allowed three hits and five runs (one earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Summer Smith stepped in the circle first for Schley County. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and six runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking five.

Peach County Lady Trojans collected 15 hits in the game. Crozier, Martin, Thomas, and Addison Dickerson each collected multiple hits for Peach County Lady Trojans. Peach County Lady Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Thomas and Warnock led the team with two walks each. Peach County Lady Trojans ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game.

Sizemore, Payton English, and Palmer each collected one hit for Schley County. Sizemore went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Schley County turned one double play in the game.
