Peach Softball defeats Dougherty 16-0
Alyssa Crozier collected three hits in three at bats, as the Peach County Lady Trojans defeated Dougherty 16-0 on Thursday. Crozier singled in the first inning, singled in the first inning, and doubled in the second inning.
The Lady Trojans won thanks in part to 10 runs in the first inning. Crozier singled, scoring two runs; Saniya Martin was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Ta'Mori Hollingshed hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run; Taleyah Marable singled, scoring two runs; Gracie Martin drew a walk, scoring one run; an error scored one run, Kaylyn Hornaday singled, scoring one run, and Crozier singled, scoring one run.
Peach County scored six runs on six hits in the top of the second inning. Martin doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Marable tripled, scoring one run, Martin singled, scoring one run, and Hornaday doubled, scoring two runs.
Shaniyah Gibson earned the win for the Peach County Lady Trojans. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one. Alona Harris took the loss for Dougherty. The pitcher went two innings, allowing 16 runs (12 earned) on 12 hits, striking out none and walking four. Crozier pitched two innings of shutout ball for the Lady Trojans in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out five and walking none.
Peach County amassed 12 hits in the game. Hornaday, Martin, Akira Everett, and Marable each collected multiple hits for the Lady Trojans. Crozier threw an immaculate inning in the third, striking out the side on nine pitches. Martin and Marable each stole multiple bases for Peach County. The Lady Trojans had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. The Peach County Lady Trojans stole 11 bases in the game and didn't commit a single error in the field.
