Third-Inning Spurt Leads Peach County Lady Trojans Past Dougherty Varsity Lady Trojans

Peach County Lady Trojans scored 12 runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Dougherty Varsity Lady Trojans 20-1 on Tuesday. Jaiden Carroll was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored one run, Addison Dickerson singled, scoring two runs, Lucy Warnock was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Carroll singled, scoring two runs, Avery Yaughn drew a walk, scoring one run, Taleyah Marable singled, scoring two runs, and Riley Augsburger drew a walk, scoring one run.

A tag up by Marable put Peach County Lady Trojans on the board in the top of the first.

Dougherty Varsity Lady Trojans scored on a wild pitch, which helped Dougherty Varsity Lady Trojans tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Peach County Lady Trojans flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring seven runs on two hits to take the lead, 8-1. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Anna Grace Wilcox earned the win for Peach County Lady Trojans. The starter gave up one hit and one run over three innings, striking out eight and walking one. Alona Harris took the loss for Dougherty Varsity Lady Trojans. The starter went three innings, giving up 20 runs (seven earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking nine.

Leadoff hitter Marable led Peach County Lady Trojans with two hits in two at bats. Peach County Lady Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Saniya Martin, Yumi Thomas, and Marable led the team with two walks each. Marable stole four bases. Peach County Lady Trojans stole six bases in the game. Peach County Lady Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Thomas had the most chances in the field with eight.

Dariona Simmons went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Dougherty Varsity Lady Trojans in hits. Simmons stole two bases.
