Peach Softball wins home opener

Shaniyah Gibson collected three hits in four at bats, as Peach County Lady Trojans defeated Crawford County 7-3 on Tuesday. Gibson tripled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

The Lady Trojans got on the board in the first inning after an error scored two runs.

Peach County added one run in the second. Taleyah Marable stole home, making the score 3-0.

Gracie Martin earned the win for the Peach County Lady Trojans. She allowed eight hits and three runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking five. Kinley Howard took the loss for Crawford County. She went five innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out 13 and walking four.

Alyssa Smith provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led the Lady Trojans with two runs batted in. In three at-bats, Alyssa Crozier collected two hits for Peach County.

Marable stole two bases. Peach County had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. The Lady Trojans stole seven bases in the game and turned one double play.

The Peach County Lady Trojans will travel to Howard for their next game on Wednesday at 5:00.
