Peach County Softball loses first game of season to Savannah Christian

The Peach County Lady Trojans couldn't keep up with Savannah Christian Raiders and fell 10-2 on Saturday.

The Lady Trojans got on the board in the top of the second inning after Taleyah Marable singled, and Gracie Martin tripled, each scoring one run.

Chaynie Cornwell singled, which helped Savannah Christian tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.

The Raiders flipped the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-2. The most significant blow in the inning was a triple by Carly Hubbard that drove in two.

Jillian Austin earned the win for Savannah Christian Varsity Raiders. The righty allowed five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking two. Shaniyah Gibson took the loss for the Peach County Lady Trojans. The starter went four and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out eight and walking six.

Alyssa Crozier, Saniya Martin, Martin, Gibson, and Marable each collected one hit for the Peach County Lady Trojans. Martin and Marable each drove in one run for the Lady Trojans.

Next up for Peach County is a home game against Veterans on Monday. JV 5:00 and Varsity 7:00.
