Lady Trojans rally to pick up big win against Crawford County 7-5

Peach County Lady Trojans Storm Back To Defeat Crawford County Varsity Eagles

Despite trailing by as many as four runs, Peach County Lady Trojans rallied to best Crawford County Varsity Eagles 7-5 on Wednesday.

Anna Grace Wilcox, Lucy Warnock, and Jaiden Carroll at the bottom of Peach County Lady Trojans's lineup combined for four of the team's eight hits in their victory. They scored zero runs and drove in five.

Crawford County Varsity Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kinley Howard homered to right field, and Maddie Jo Carroll singled, each scoring one run.

A double by Bailey Phillips extended the Crawford County Varsity Eagles lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning.

Crawford County Varsity Eagles added one run in the third after Kylie Massengale walked.

Peach County Lady Trojans captured the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the fourth when Addison Dickerson doubled, scoring one run, Warnock drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carroll doubled, scoring two runs.

Shaniyah Gibson earned the win for Peach County Lady Trojans. The reliever gave up four hits and two runs over five and one-third innings, striking out 11 and walking four. Howard took the loss for Crawford County Varsity Eagles. The starter went three and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking eight. Wilcox stepped in the circle first for Peach County Lady Trojans. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking none.

Warnock led Peach County Lady Trojans with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Alyssa Crozier, Warnock, and Carroll each collected two hits for Peach County Lady Trojans. Saniya Martin paced Peach County Lady Trojans with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Martin stole two bases. Peach County Lady Trojans ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game.

Howard set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Crawford County Varsity Eagles with three hits in four at bats. Adalynn Puckett collected two hits for Crawford County Varsity Eagles in four at bats. Crawford County Varsity Eagles turned one double play in the game.
