Lady Trojans sweep Monroe 16-0 in both games
The Peach County Lady Trojans defeated Monroe 16-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to 16 runs in the first inning. Kaylyn Hornaday doubled, scoring two runs; Akira Everett was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Saniya Martin drew a walk, scoring one run; Ta'Mori Hollingshed drew a walk, scoring one run; Taleyah Marable singled, scoring two runs; Gracie Martin singled, scoring two runs; Hornaday singled, scoring one run; an error scored two runs; Hollingshed drew a walk, scoring one run; Marable drew a walk, scoring one run; and Hornaday drew a walk, scoring one run.
Shaniyah Gibson earned the win for the Peach County Lady Trojans. The pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out nine and walking none. Harvey took the loss for Monroe. The pitcher went two innings, giving up 16 runs (10 earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking 12.
Hornaday drove the middle of the lineup, going 2/2 and leading the Lady Trojans with four RBI.

The Lady Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after a pitch struck Everett, Ta'Mori Hollingshed laid down a sacrifice bunt, Taleyah Marable singled, Gracie Martin singled, Shaniyah Gibson singled, Alyssa Smith singled, and Peach County Lady Trojans scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Crozier earned the win for the Peach County. The pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking none. Duhart took the loss for Monroe. The pitcher went three innings, allowing 16 runs (13 earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking four.
Martin went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three RBI. Crozier led Peach County with two hits in three at bats. Smith stole three bases. Peach County Lady Trojans ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game.
