Peach County Softball improves to 6-0 in Region 1-AAA

The Peach County Lady Trojans scored nine runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Westover 16-0 on Tuesday. Alyssa Smith singled, scoring two runs, Akira Everett singled, scoring one run, Ta'Mori Hollingshed drew a walk, scoring one run, Taleyah Marable singled, scoring two runs, Gracie Martin singled, scoring one run, and Shaniyah Gibson homered to center field, scoring two runs.

The Lady Trojans jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Kaylyn Hornaday doubled, scoring two runs; Alyssa Crozier singled, scoring one run; Hollingshed drew a walk, scoring one run; Mikiyah Lee induced Marable to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Martin doubled, scoring two runs.

Martin earned the win for the Peach County Lady Trojans. The hurler allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking none.

Lee took the loss for Westover. The hurler went two innings, allowing 16 runs on 12 hits, striking out none and walking four.

The Lady Trojans tallied 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Martin led Peach County with three hits in three at-bats. Crozier collected two hits for Peach County in two at-bats. Crozier stole two bases. The Lady Trojans stole nine bases in the game.

 

The Peach County Lady Trojans host a Diamond Day against Savannah Christian and Crisp County this Saturday.
