Lady Trojans improve to 5-0 with a 14-0 victory at Rutland

On Tuesday, the Peach County Lady Trojans won big over Rutland 14-0.

The Lady Trojans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Shaniyah Gibson homered to left field, scoring two runs; Akira Everett singled, scoring two runs; one run scored on a dropped third strike, and Ta'Mori Hollingshed hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs.

Peach County scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the third inning. Hollingshed singled, scoring two runs, Taleyah Marable singled, scoring one run, Kaylyn Hornaday doubled, scoring one run, and Alyssa Crozier singled, scoring three runs.

Gracie Martin earned the win for the Peach County Lady Trojans. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking none. Hannah Huckeba took the loss for Rutland. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up 14 runs (12 earned) on 12 hits, striking out two and walking one. Crozier tossed two innings of shutout ball for the Lady Trojans in relief.  She surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

Peach County tallied 12 hits in the game. Crozier, Gibson, and Hollingshed each collected two hits.

Crozier, Gibson, and Hollingshed each drove in two runs for the Lady Trojans.  The Peach County Lady Trojans didn't commit a single error in the field.

The Lady Trojans will be back in action next week at home against Schley County on Monday at 6:00 and Wednesday against Rutland at home at 6:30.
