Peach County Lady Trojans easily dispatched Upson-Lee Varsity Knights on Wednesday, 12-4.
Peach County Lady Trojans opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two singles. Peach County Lady Trojans first got on the board when Shaniyah Gibson singled, scoring two runs.
Peach County Lady Trojans added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Addison Dickerson singled, Upson-Lee Varsity Knights committed an error, Yumi Thomas doubled to center field, Jaiden Carroll singled to center field, and Saniya Martin tripled to center field, each scoring one run.
A double by Gibson extended the Peach County Lady Trojans lead to 9-3 in the bottom of the third inning.
Alyssa Crozier earned the win for Peach County Lady Trojans. The starter surrendered seven hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Brooklyn McDaniel took the loss for Upson-Lee Varsity Knights. The pitcher went four and one-third innings, giving up 12 runs (nine earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking six. Gibson appeared in relief for Peach County Lady Trojans.
Peach County Lady Trojans amassed 11 hits in the game. Gibson led Peach County Lady Trojans with three hits in four at bats. Crozier, Thomas, and Gibson each drove in two runs for Peach County Lady Trojans. Carroll and Dickerson each collected multiple hits for Peach County Lady Trojans. Taleyah Marable led Peach County Lady Trojans with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Marable and Dickerson each stole multiple bases for Peach County Lady Trojans. Peach County Lady Trojans ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game. Peach County Lady Trojans turned one double play in the game. Peach County Lady Trojans were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Thomas made the most plays with four.
Jamayah Carthon and McDaniel were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Upson-Lee Varsity Knights. Carsen Barfied, Carthon, and Hayden Smith each collected two hits for Upson-Lee Varsity Knights. Upson-Lee Varsity Knights turned one double play in the game.
