Peach Volleyball drops Region 2-AAA Match to Jackson

Jackson eased past Peach County 2-0 to remain perched atop the Region 2-AAA standings.

The Lady Red Devils won 25-14 and 25-9 to secure their 18th overall win against seven losses and won for the sixth time in as many Region matches. PCHS drops to 6-13 overall and is still searching for their initial Region win, now 0-7 for the season.

Despite the scores, Peach played inspired team volleyball and battled the talented hosts throughout the contest.

Solid defensive efforts were put up by Ryenne Stephens, Kanik Surles, Demechia Walker, and Uzzhia Rumph.

Those four, plus Monserrat Bravo combined for 11 Digs between them and four blocked shots.

Offensively, Alexia Heyward and Kelly Blackmon each had a pair of kills and several blocked shots that kept rallies alive. The Lady Devils controlled the service and front lines, and Peach battled the height disadvantage as best as they could, but in the end, Jackson wore down Peach's efforts.

The Lady Trojans will celebrate Senior Day on Monday as they host Crawford County in JV and Varsity action beginning at 5:00.
