Volleyball starts 1-0 in Region 2-AAA
Peach County High School Volleyball won with "some grit coming down the stretch," said Coach Billy Sellers on his team's performance in their first Region 2-AAA win of the season. The Lady Trojans won the match 2-1, winning set one 25-22, losing set two 15-25, and pulling off set three 15-10. The victory puts the Lady Trojans at 1-0.
Alexia Heyward established herself up front and had multiple kills along with several blocks. She also had four aces during the contest. Alecia Cason and Lillian Wright supported the effort off the bench in the first set, where we came from seven down mid-set to ease past the Lady Knights of Upson-Lee. Cason had three aces in her ten successful serve attempts. Wright played huge up front with a couple of blocks and a pair of kills.
"It's nice to be 1-0 in the Region race," said Coach Sellers.
