eSports set for a big week
It's a big week for PCHS eSports this week! We have two teams still in the running for a state championship. One of our Madden players, Trevor Emmert, aka ChrisPBacon, has once again qualified for the Elite 8 after his victory against V. Higgins, aka Terrors1788, from Glynn Academy down in Brunswick, GA. For his chance to re-appear in the in-person finals at the University of West Georgia, Trevor must defeat B. Hall, aka FendiSweatshirt from Dodge County High School. B. Hall is 6-2 overall and ranked #10 in the state of Georgia. ChrisPBacon is ranked #2 in the state and boasts a 7-1 record.
Our Splatoon 3 team, named Sizzlin' & Rizzlin', also qualified for an Elite 8 spot after they rallied to defeat Calamari of Richmond Hill High School. Our PCHS Splatoon team is 6-2 and ranked #6 in the state of Georgia. To earn their spot at the finals, they must go through a tough team from Discovery High School in Lawrenceville, GA. The "Discovery Titans Green" team is 7-1, ranked #3 in the state, and has already defeated PCHS once during the regular season. PCHS defeated this team last season during playoffs to secure a fall season final-four spot. Discovery beat Northview High School's B team (ranked 14th in the state) last week to secure their spot in this season's Elite 8.
ChrisPBacon's Madden match will be live-streamed Tuesday (4/18) on the PCHS eSports YouTube channel. We will upload the Splatoon footage to YouTube later in the evening on Tuesday.
