Khalil Watson - eSports POTW

PCHS eSports is heading to the Elite 8!
 
Three eSports teams secured wins on Friday, December 1st, to advance in the GHSA playoffs. 
 
#1 Trevor Emmert aka ChrisPBacon defeated #16 Fitzgerald High School 2-0. He won game 1 with a 31-28 victory and game 2 with a score of 21-7. He will play Lambert High School.
 
Our #5 ranked Splatoon 3 team, Shivering Sharks, defeated #12 Lambert High School with a sweeping 3-0 victory. Participating on this team for PCHS includes seniors Savon Williams and Kanik Surles and underclassmen Christian Rodriguez and Samuel Brown. They will face off against Lowndes High School. They played Lowndes during the regular season and defeated them 3-1.
 
The Banana Bandits are currently ranked #4 in the A-4A division. Members of this team include senior Jordan Woods and underclassmen Khalil Watson, Trentavious Brown, and Joshua Westbrook. They also secured a clean sweep victory against 20th-ranked Sol C. Johnson High School. Jordan and Khalil 2-0'd their opponents, and Trenatvious won his set 2-1.
 
Khalil Watson was voted PCHS eSports Player of the Week for a solid week of Smash gameplay. Khalil also registered for a national Smash tournament that was played out on Sunday, December 3rd. He finished the tournament with four wins and three losses. Several college recruiters were present scouting potential players for their eSports programs. Joshua Westbrook was also voted WGXA's Game Changer Player of the Month. He was interviewed last week, and it will air on their news channel this Friday.
