Girls win and Boys lose in PKs in Semifinals of Jaguar Cup

Congratulations to the Lady Trojan Soccer Team on defeating Spalding County 2-1. Scoring for the Trojans were Michaela McGhee and Jada Vance. Assists go to Madelyn Cliett and Michaela Mcgee.  Marianna Loera, Michaela McGee, Arianna Williams, Lena Hoffmann, and Avlynn Mercado led the defensive stand. Peach will advance to the Jauguar Cup Championship game to be held on Saturday.  The Lady Trojans will play GMC Prep on Friday.

The Trojan Boys Soccer team suffered a hard-fought and close loss to Spalding last night.  Julio Casteneda scored the go-ahead goal in the first half to give our Trojans a 1-0 lead.  But, Spalding evened the score early in the second half.  Beto Martinez made several amazing stops to keep the score even through the second half while center-backs Jesus Sanchez, Alex Ortiz, and Midfielder Marco Huerta battled hard to deny chances as well.  Creative play by Brandon Glover generated several great shots in the attack, but the Trojans were unable to put the final pieces away.  The game was decided in penalties, and a hard-fought loss went Spalding's way after the first five shots were taken.  However, the Trojans advance to the championship game on Saturday based on points.

Both the Trojans and Lady Trojans will battle GMC Prep on Friday before advancing to the Jaguar Cup Championship on Saturday.  Both teams will face KONOS.  The Lady Trojans play at 5:00 and the Trojans play at 7:00.
